2009-2010 Basic Supplies List

 

 
 Sixth Grade

During the 2009-10 school year, cell phones, CD or MP3 players, toys, calculators, iPods, skateboards, or any type of electronic device will NOT be allowed in the school building at any time.

  • trapper keeper or large binder that zips or fastens

  • 5 dividers--1 for each subject

  • only mesh or clear backpacks are allowed

  • wide ruled loose leaf paper (no college rule, no spiral notebooks)

  • pencils (If using a mechanical pencil, extra lead will be needed.)

  • pencil bag

  • colored pencils or crayons (Absolutely no ink pens or markers of any kind are allowed.)

  • 3 folders with brads and pockets for math, guidance, and library

  • 2 boxes of facial tissues

  • 1 composition notebook for English

  • Spiral index cards (50 count) for Social Studies

  • 1 pair of gym shoes with non-marking soles

  • 1 roll of paper towels

  • NO locks will be allowed

 
 
Seventh Grade

Students need the following materials for each class as listed below.  PLEASE DO NOT BRING INK PENS OR MARKERS TO SCHOOL!

  • MESH or CLEAR backpack

  • 3 three-ring binders with pockets-1 inch width (1 for math, 1 for science,  and 1 for English and reading)

  • One five-subject notebook with pockets for social studies

  • Square sticky notes for social studies

  • Loose leaf notebook paper (wide-ruled)

  • Pencils

  • Colored pencils and crayons (no markers)

  • Calculators (optional for math)

  • 4 glue sticks for social studies

  • Six Jumbo book covers (Please do not buys sticky book covers or small stretchy book covers since they damage the books.  Buy the large size if you use stretchy book covers.)

  • Three packs of dividers for notebooks

  • Four folders with pockets and brad fasteners (1 for computer, 1 for library, 1 for guidance, and 1 for English).

  • Inexpensive headphones for computer class

  • Four dry erase markers (2 for math, 2 for reading for student use)

  • Re-sealable pack of baby wipes

  • Facial tissues

  • Paper towels

  • Gym shoes separate from those worn to school are required in P.E. class.  P.E. shoes will be taken to P.E. and changed into before students are allowed to participate in P.E. class.

  • ORGANIZING HINTS:

  • 1.  Buy different colored binders for each class requiring them (example: red for Social Studies, blue for Reading/English, green for Mathematics, orange for Science, etc.)

  • 2. DO NOT BUY INK PENS OR MARKERS!  Pens used in classes will be furnished by the school.

  • 3. Have extra pencils.  There seems to be a shortage of pencil by October!

  • 4. Cover your textbooks, but make sure to label them clearly so you do not get the wrong book by mistake (you can cover them with different book covers or different colors of paper).  DO NOT USE CONTACT PAPER TO COVER TEXTBOOKS!

  • 5. Write assignment down in an assignment notebook or on an assignment sheet.

 

 Eighth Grade
 

PLEASE DO NOT BRING PENS TO SCHOOL.  THEY ARE NOT PERMITTED.

  • #2 Pencils

  • Mechanical pencils with extra lead

  • Loose leaf notebook paper (wide ruled)

  • Colored pencils or crayons for Social Studies and Science classes

  • 2 boxes of facial tissues (homeroom)

  • 1 roll of paper towels (homeroom)

  • 1 hand sanitizer (homeroom)

  • One composition notebook for science

  • Mesh or clear backpacks only

  • Three 1" three-ring binders for science, reading, and social studies

  • Two 2" three-ring binders for math and English

  • 1 pack of dry erase markers (dark colors) for mathematics class

  • 1 small spiral notebook for math

  • 1 scientific calculator for math

  • 3 packs of dividers

  • 2 Zip Lock bags (gallon size) for science

  • Inexpensive headphones for computer class

  • 5 folders with pockets and brads--1 for English, 2 for Reading, 1 for guidance, and 1 for computer

  • 5 jumbo book covers (Please buy the jumbo size stretchy covers rather than the small size.  Please do not use sticky covers or contact paper to cover books.

  • Physical education shoes are required for P.E. class.  These shoes are separate from what the student wears to school.
