Who
should visit the school counselor? Any
student can visit the school counselor. Students
who have a problem that makes it difficult to get through the school day
or do their best in all their subjects should definitely talk to the counselor.
Together, we can make things better!
·
When
can I visit the school counselor? You
can see the counselor just about any time!
Let your teacher know you would like to talk to the counselor, or drop by
the counseling office. We will set
up an appointment and meet very soon. If
we need to talk more than once, we will set up weekly appointments. ·
What
else does the school counselor do? In
addition to individual counseling, the school counselor leads small groups for
students who are facing similar problems (like divorce, grief, depression,
anger, etc.), and conducts classroom guidance sessions with all classes in the
school. In classroom guidance we
learn about the Character Counts curriculum… and have lots of fun doing it! ·
How
can a parent contact the school counselor?
Just
call the school and ask to speak with me or click on my e-mail address (found at
the top of this page) and drop me a line.
