PROGRAM PLANNING Your four-year program of study is a vital link in the planning of educational and career goals. In the Hickman County Schools, it is the responsibility of the parents or guardians and students to exercise the initiative in developing the student’s program. School personnel are also very much interested in your future. Teachers, counselors, and administrators encourage you to participate in all the activities at the schools when curriculum plans are made. The following are times when programs of studies are either explained or planned: 8th GRADE PRE-REGISTRATION DAYS – Students will receive a notice informing
them of the time set aside to meet with school personnel and their parents to
plan their 4-year high school program and to register for the 9th grade. These
appointments will be at 9TH, 10TH, & 11TH GRADE PRE-REGISTRATION DAYS – A number of days during the months of April and May will be set aside to pre-register upper classmen. Students will receive an appointment notice from one of the counselors informing them of their date and time scheduled to plan their schedules for the following year. If a student misses his/her appointment, it is his/her responsibility to schedule another appointment. To insure that wise choices are made by students, parents should require their students to discuss course choices at home. Parents, please check closely your student’s progress in school. We encourage a team effort ~~ student, parent and school. NO SCHEDULE CHANGES LATER THAN 5 DAYS AFTER QUARTER STARTS! ***ANY CHANGES MUST HAVE WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE PRINCIPAL.*** |
