CAFETERIA Our cafeteria is a source of great pride to everyone. The food is well prepared, servings are generous, and prices are low. Four lunch shifts take care of the entire student body. Lines form quietly and move through at a steady and rapid pace. The lunch includes a choice of meats, vegetables, bread, butter, milk, pizza and dessert. Ice cream also may be bought at the cafeteria during lunch period, but it shall be consumed in the cafeteria. Students may bring their lunch if they do not wish to use the cafeteria service. Those carrying their lunch are to eat in the cafeteria. Please follow these guidelines: 1. Walk - do not run to the cafeteria. 2. Do not step ahead of others in line. 3. Clean the tables after you have finished your lunch. 4. Return your tray to the proper place. 5. No food is to be carried from the cafeteria to be eaten elsewhere. (This includes ice cream and whole fruits served as a dessert.) 6. All students must remain in cafeteria until bell rings to go to class. 7. No drinks, bottled or canned, should be brought into the cafeteria. SNACK MACHINES No snack machines should be in operation at school after 7:55. They may be turned on after the last lunch period is over. This applies to all departments of the school.
DRINKS Students are not to bring drinks to school in bottles, cans, mugs, cups, or thermoses.
ASSEMBLY Pupils can make or mar the reputation of the school by their conduct in the auditorium. The following is a code that should be followed in assemblies: Pupils should listen attentively to the programs which have been prepared, often with great labor, for their benefit. Even though you may not be interested in the program, others may be. If you are the host to any outside speaker or talent, treat him with the same courtesy that you would a guest in your home. Pupils should be aware of their posture, sitting in a correct position. There should be no stepping over seats at all in the auditorium.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS Courtesy to substitute teachers is one of the most vital ways in which we may build good school-community relationships. Treat your substitute teacher as you would a guest in your home. The school feels obligated to take severe action against students who persist in being uncooperative and disrupting in the substitute teacher's classroom. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT Get approval of the announcement from a teacher or sponsor. Bring it to the office at least ten minutes prior to the end of the period for announcements to be made.
F YOU HAVE MET WITH AN ACCIDENT WHILE AT SCHOOL AND NEED FIRST AID: Notify the office immediately. The teachers of the class where the accident occurred will be required to turn in an accident report to the Front Office or Vocational Office. IF YOU HAVE LOST OR FOUND ANYTHING OF VALUE: Bring it to the school secretary in the office. GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES If a student or parent has a problem with a disciplinary action or attendance problem they may appeal within five (5) school days to the Disciplinary Committee or to the Attendance Committee. The Board of Education has approved these two committees to deal with these grievances.
