JROTC/MILITARY SCIENCE I Credit: 1 per semester
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: None
Students are introduced to the JROTC program with
instruction in leadership development, drill, weapons safety and
marksmanship, hygiene and first aid, map reading, organization, methods
of instruction and other basic military subjects. Two (2) credits of
JROTC will substitute for the required credit in Wellness.
JROTC/MILITARY SCIENCE II Credit: 1 per semester
Grade: 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Military Science I
Students will complete the intermediate studies of
leadership, drill, marksmanship, methods of instruction, map reading,
advanced military subjects and the history of the Army with emphasis on
some of its significant leaders and events.
JROTC/MILITARY SCIENCE III Credit: 1 per semester
Grade: 11, 12
Prerequisite: Military Science II
Students greatly intensify the leadership training
with applied problem-solving situations, psychology of leadership,
marksmanship, military history and methods of instruction. Completion of
Military Science III two (2) credits will substitute for the required
half (1/2) credit in U.S. Government.
JROTC/MILITARY SCIENCE IV Credit: 1 per semester
Grade: 12
Prerequisite: Military Science III
Students
study advanced leadership training with applied problem-solving
situations, psychology of leadership, marksmanship, military history and
methods of instruction. This is a self-paced course with practice
applications of leadership and instruction to lower classes.
